The contract, which was approved on a 6-0 vote of the Board, includes a first year salary of $122,000 plus insurance and retirement benefits. Richards is married with two daughters, and already lives in the South Sarpy district.
Superintendent Gets a Pie in the Face
A lucky 4th grader, Makenzie Johnson, was selected to throw a pie in Superintendent Chuck Chevalier's face. She did a great job to the cheers of Springfield Elementary students and staff! A few seconds later, Dalton Heisner received the lucky job of "pieing" Principal Wes Reed. The festivities concluded a building service project to raise money for "Pennies for Patients," a national fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Springfield Elementary students bought chances to be the lucky "piers," and also gave money to wear different spirit day clothing. Congratulations to the students and staff at Springfield Elementary School!Four School Board Members Get NASB Awards
Four school Board members received awards from the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) for their 2010-11 efforts. NASB annually gives Awards of Achievement to school board members in one of 10 levels. School board members can earn points for participating in workshops or conventions, presenting or moderating workshops or lobbying state senators. For 2010-11, South Sarpy School District #46 Board members who earned awards were Kyle Fisher (Level V), Nick Stolzer (Level IV), Brenda Sherman (Level II), and Brian Wichman (Level I). Congratulations!
